Middle Management

Driven by a comprehensive Occupational Analysis the Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) has re-designed the Mid-Management program. This 40 hour revised course combines facilitated presentations, leadership analysis, and adult critical thinking exercises to explore the world and challenges of mid-level managers.
Areas of concentration for this class include:
  • Influential Leadership
  • Understanding Organizations and Systems
  • Building Effective Teams
  • Conflict Resolution Strategies and Practices
  • Ethical Reflection
  • Crucial Conversations
  • Performance Management
  • Budget Development/Management
  • Crisis Management
  • Media Relations
  • Personnel Management – Hiring and Discipline

As a means of incorporating the knowledge gained through the leadership experience, students are asked to identify a systemic challenge facing their organization and develop a plan to be implemented upon return to their department.

This course is part of the Career Level Certification Series.
