Social Media Exploitation

This course is hosted by the DuPont Police Department.

This two-day Social Media Exploitation course is designed to teach law enforcement personnel how to legally exploit social media to locate fugitives. Traditional law enforcement methods teach officers to waste hours, days, and weeks on surveillance, chasing cold leads, etc., all to be a step behind your fugitive.

This course shows to the student how to maximize their time, quickly locating fugitives by exploiting social media accounts in combination with legal process. Students will be shown from the ground up, how to write the legal process, how to submit the process, what to do with the data when you get it back and how to turn the data into a physical location.  The entire course is built and taught using real life case studies.  Numerous electronic surveillance techniques will be demonstrated that are applicable to criminal investigations and fugitive apprehensions.  The investigative techniques taught in this class apply to Patrol Officers, Fugitive Units, Detectives, VICE, NARC, Gang Unit, Crime Analysts, etc.
