BLEA Class 933 Sets the Standard for Service

Twenty-seven recruits crossed the stage, marking the end of one journey and the beginning of another. Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA) Class 933 has officially graduated, joining the ranks of law enforcement professionals prepared to serve communities across Washington state.

Their time at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) was defined by challenge, growth, and a shared commitment to public service. Through months of training grounded in law, science, and community partnership, these graduates built the skills and judgment required to meet the realities of modern policing.

BLEA Class 933 Graduation

BLEA is designed to prepare officers not only to respond, but to think critically, communicate effectively, and act with integrity in every interaction. That responsibility was not lost on Class 933.

During the graduation ceremony, Class President Officer Satyananda Fedorowsky of the Seattle Police Department reflected on the class’s journey and the responsibility ahead.

“My ask is that you stay curious, that you keep learning, and that you don’t let experience turn into routine,” she said.

Her message captured the mindset that carried the class through the academy. A commitment to continuous learning is essential in a profession that demands adaptability, sound judgment, and accountability.

Fedorowsky also spoke to something deeper than training.

“Please don’t lose sight of who you are outside your uniform. Don’t lose your humor, don’t lose your camaraderie, and the compassion to help this community.”

That balance—between professionalism and humanity—is at the core of WSCJTC’s approach to training. Officers are prepared to serve with authority, but also with empathy and respect for the people and communities they encounter.

Class 933 demonstrated that balance throughout their time at the academy. They trained together, supported one another, and built the trust that will carry into their careers.

As Fedorowsky closed her remarks, she left her classmates with a message that reflects both pride and expectation.

“So Class 933, I can stand up here today and say you have set the standard. I’m proud to be your class president and even more proud to stand next to you.”

That standard now moves beyond the academy walls and into communities across the state.

WSCJTC remains committed to preparing law enforcement professionals who serve with integrity, accountability, and a deep understanding of the communities they protect. As Washington’s core training and certification body, the commission delivers nationally accredited, community-centered training that builds trust and strengthens public safety.

Congratulations to BLEA Class 933.
