SOFT OPENING OF NEW WSCJTC ACADEMY IN ARLINGTON TO BOOST LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CAPACITY

Arlington, WA – October 21st, 2024 – The Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) is proud to announce the soft opening of its new law enforcement training academy in Arlington, WA. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22nd at 1pm. The event will be held at 19405 68th Dr NE, Arlington, WA, will feature remarks from Governor Jay Inslee and WSCJTC Executive Director Monica Alexander, and Washington State Senator John Lovick, all of whom helped secure the site in Snohomish County. 

The Arlington facility will be one of five academies in the state and is expected to fully open in early 2025. The academy will focus on preparing officers to serve in the communities where they live and work, strengthening ties between law enforcement and residents. In addition, it will advance recruitment and community policing initiatives. 

“This facility will allow us to meet the growing demand for law enforcement training while ensuring officers are ready for the challenges of modern policing,” said Alexander. “It will be a major step in improving recruitment and enhancing relationships between officers and the communities it serves.”


The academy’s state-of-the-art curriculum will be the first in the nation to roll out on a national level, with an emphasis on innovative training, standards, and officer certification.
