Who can attend our classes?
Class is available to corrections personnel with priority given to agencies in King County.
Visitors attending training at the WSCJTC are encouraged to wear their agency logo shirt/uniform or agency ID badge while on campus.
Visitors not wearing agency identification can attend classes in business casual attire. They will need to check in at the front desk and wear a clip-on visitor's identification card.
There is no current requirement for CIT for corrections. Facilities, institutions, jails, etc., are welcome to contract with WSCJTC for training. If agencies choose to do so, they will be responsible for instructor costs for an 8-hour course of $2500 for the day. This fee includes the two instructors and if the training site is over 50 miles from the instructor’s location, there will be additional travel costs at the state Per Diem Rates.
Benefits to agencies wishing to host:
- Instructors come to you,
- No travel incurred for students to attend
- No room rental fees.
Agencies are not eligible to request overtime/backfill reimbursement for their correctional personnel if outside of King County.
Classes are typically held 0800 - 1700, unless otherwise noted. Locations vary by session.
Contact your training unit or Training Manager to register you in the Acadis Portal.
If classes are full, or not available, please complete the Course Interest Survey. This is not a waiting list, but instead helps us see if there is enough interest to create another class. If we schedule a session, we will contact everyone who has completed the survey and request that registration be completed.
