Patrol Tactics 24 Hour In-Service

Given a written and practical exam composed of vehicle contacts, person contacts and structural clearing. Participants will demonstrate the following skills:

  • Threat recognition, prioritization and response
  • High risk handcuffing
  • Legal authority
  • Contact and cover
  • Equipment management
  • Care after fire
  • Angular evaluations on vertical edges
    • Structures and vehicles

Prerequisite

All participants must not have any physical limitations

WHO CAN ATTEND OUR CLASSES?

This course is open to all Peace Officers certified in the State of Washington.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • Fully equipped duty belt and inert firearm
  • Handcuffs (and keys)
  • Sturdy boots

PRE-COURSE WORK

Participants must read WAC 139-11.

DRESS CODE

Visitors attending training at the WSCJTC are encouraged to wear their agency logo shirt/uniform or agency ID badge while on campus.

Visitors not wearing agency identification can attend classes in business casual attire. They will need to check in at the front desk and wear a clip-on visitor's identification card.

Class hours are 0800-1700, Monday through Wednesday, with the exception of State and Federal Holidays.
