Evidence/Identification Technician

The City of Puyallup Police Department is hiring for an Evidence/Identification Technician position. This position is part of a two person team working under the CID Captain. The successful candidate will perform manual and clerical work of a complex nature requiring expertise in the operation of a variety of office equipment, as well as complex office systems and procedures. The employee applies knowledge of City and other governmental rules and regulations and/or supervisor's instructions in receiving, identifying, inspecting, releasing and storing of property. Work also involves data entry, maintenance, and control on a daily basis of complex, highly confidential records. Work also involves detecting, collecting and processing evidence from and at crime scenes as well as maintaining the department fingerprint file. Work is performed in an office as well as responding to crime scenes as needed. Duties include other laboratory and administrative tasks as assigned.
