April | Notes from the Executive’s Desk
As I share my first Notes from the Executive’s Desk, I want to begin by expressing my gratitude and respect for this organization and the people who make it what it is.
I am honored to serve in this role and to represent WSCJTC. As an agency, we have accomplished a great deal together, and there is much to celebrate. I step into this position with a deep appreciation for the work already underway and the strong foundation each of you has built.
Recognizing Our Progress
One milestone that stands out this month is the national certification of our Basic Law Enforcement Academy curriculum. This achievement reflects the strength of our training, the expertise of our instructors, and our continued commitment to excellence. It reinforces WSCJTC’s role as a leader in setting high standards for law enforcement training and preparing professionals to serve their communities with integrity and accountability.

Honoring Our Commitment
April is also Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This is an important time to recognize the role public safety professionals play in supporting survivors and strengthening community trust. At WSCJTC, this commitment is reflected in our trauma-informed training and our ongoing work to advance best practices across the state. This work matters, and it continues to shape how we prepare professionals to serve with care, accountability, and respect.

Looking Ahead
Every day, I see the impact of your work across our academies, programs, and partnerships throughout the state. Your commitment continues to strengthen public safety and build trust in the communities we serve.
As we take time to recognize our staff and accomplishments, I’m confident in the direction we are heading. The WSCJTC mission and vision continue to guide our work, and our progress reflects the dedication and professionalism each of you brings every day. During this transition, you have my commitment that I will be present, engaged, and focused on supporting our continued success.
Thank you for your continued dedication to WSCJTC and to the communities we serve.
