This 16-hour CJTC Patrol Carbine Instructor Recertification course should be attended within 5 years of the last certification. This course will provide the current firearms instructor with contemporary techniques and theories as well as a review, along with updates on technology and training standards. In addition, this course will provide a review of federal and state laws and contemporary legal standards relating to the use of deadly force.
Advanced Firearms Patrol Carbine Instructor Recertification
This course will provide the current carbine instructor with the contemporary techniques and theories. The course objectives are as follows:
- Introduce participants to contemporary techniques & theories for firearms instruction
- Instruction on the use of duty optics
Additional topics will include:
- Deployment & manipulation exercises
- Marksmanship qualification
Prerequisites
- Successful completion of Patrol Carbine Instructor, course #2014 and current Handgun Instructor Certification or completion of Handgun Recertification, course #2015.
- An exit qualification will be required at the end of the course. A passing score of 90% is required to receive a certification.
Audience
Active law enforcement and corrections personnel who meet the prerequisites.
Dress Code
For security reasons, while on the WSCJTC campus are encouraged to wear their agency logo shirt/uniform and have their agency ID badge visible.
Cancelation
Effective immediately:
- Registration will be completed 45 days before the course start date.
- Invoices for the course will be generated and sent to respective agencies on the first day of the course. Payment for the course is expected within 30 days of receiving the invoice.
- Cancellations of registered attendees must occur before the registration date for the course. The cancellation must be submitted by the agency's training coordinator to the program registrar via email.
- If cancellation occurs within 45 days of the course start date, the agency will be invoiced for the full tuition cost and are expected to pay the full price of tuition within 30 days of receiving the invoice.
- The WSCJTC encourages replacing the attendee who had to cancel with another attendee from the same agency. In certain circumstances, a credit can be extended to the agency for another course date.
- If cancellation occurs within 45 days of the course start date, the agency will be invoiced for the full tuition cost and are expected to pay the full price of tuition within 30 days of receiving the invoice.
