This course is a significant commitment in developing leaders in public safety organizations. It is designed for those who have an understanding of leadership (either at work or church, parenting, coaching, or any other portion of their life). We present materials based on the psychological interactions between human beings, understanding what the science says about how people relate to one another. We also draw on our collective art learned through trial and error as leaders to share and recognize best practices. The artful application of sound leadership principles that enhance the motivation, satisfaction, and performance of the men and women in our community is one course goal.

Firearms instructor certification courses typically do not go into great detail about the administrative duties and knowledge needed to successfully operating a shooting range. This 3-day / 24-hour development course is designed to educate lead firearms instructors or supervisors, who are assigned as the Rangemaster, on a variety of topics to ensure their firearms training programs and range facility are operating safely, reducing liability, and defendable in court. This is the most comprehensive Rangemaster course available.

This course is hosted by the Kennewick Police Department.

This is a special course for law enforcement, school, and business professionals dealing with selected issues in preparing for and responding to incidents of mass violence. All participants will begin classroom instruction together; the law enforcement attendees and the school / business attendees will then separate for continued instruction along tracks suited to the roles of each group. All participants will reunite for the practical application to allow for integration of their respective roles during field exercises. Utilizing both lecture and facilitated learning techniques, the following topics will be among those covered: threat analysis, the application of physical security systems and procedures to incidents of mass violence, emergency plan development and assessment, and law enforcement response issues. It is expected that participants are familiar with basic concepts in these areas. Special emphasis will be given to lessons learned from past incidents.

This hybrid 40-hour (12 hours online / 28 hours in-person) instructor certification course is designed to certify candidates as a law enforcement semi-auto pistol instructor. Upon successful completion candidates will be qualified to conduct daytime & nighttime semi-auto pistol training for recruits & sworn officers as well as conduct semi-auto pistol qualifications.

This hybrid 40-hour (12 hours online / 28 hours in-person) instructor certification course is designed to certify candidates as a law enforcement semi-auto rifle instructor. Upon successful completion candidates will be qualified to conduct daytime & nighttime semi-auto rifle training for recruits & sworn officers as well as conduct semi-auto rifle qualifications.

An increased understanding of the neurobiological impacts of trauma on victims of sexual violence have led to more effective law enforcement tactics for engaging with victims of these crimes. A trauma-informed approach by patrol officers, as prescribed in this two-hour training, can lead to increased criminal justice participation by victims and therefore higher rates of accountability for offenders.

This comprehensive sexual assault training is mandated through RCW 43.101.272 for officers assigned to regularly investigate sexual assault and other gender-based violence involving adult victims as well as the highest-ranking supervisors and commanders overseeing those investigations. Training is required within one year of being assigned. SAI is a 4-day online course which includes up to six hours of pre-course work and take-home materials.

The course is 16 hours in length and is taught in seminar style. Students are expected to have a good grasp of the basics of Sheriff Civil Function. This course will cover advanced interpretations of:

This online training is for staff either commissioned or civilian that work for the sheriff in the capacity of handling the mandated civil functions of a Sheriff’s Civil Unit.

These include service of process, protection orders, seizure and forfeiture of personal or real property and how to properly execute a Sheriff’s Sale.

In this 3 hour course, SHIELD trains police officers how to be safe, healthy, and more effective when performing their duties during the overdose crisis. It is a vital resource at a time when police are being asked to do more with less, while facing high risks and reduced public support.

Today’s Street Survival® Seminar addresses law enforcement as the multi-faceted profession it has become. Rather than limiting our focus to just surviving deadly threats, we also discuss the need to prepare officers for making sound, legal, and reasonable decisions under stress in order to preserve the lives of citizens as well as their own.

This online course is for WA State law enforcement investigators, coroners, and medical examiners who are responsible for investigating child fatality cases. The goal of the course is to help investigators become proficient in investigating sudden and unexplained infant death and serious injury scenes.

Use of force is still the biggest exposure law enforcement professionals face in today’s world. Yet most “use of force training” is skill based and done from silos of expertise and is divorced from the realities of the legal environment we work in. Often one instructor teaches the hands-on tactics, another teaches firearms and yet another group teaches tactics. You must be able to build a training program to bring it all together. It is inherent that police trainers understand the current standards (practices) for using force, teaching force, and critically analyzing force incidents.
