Applied Skills Training Division
The Applied Skills Training Division (ASTD) at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WSCJTC) provides specialized, hands-on training for law enforcement professionals in critical skills used in the field.
The division offers training and instructor development in firearms, control and defensive tactics, use of force, de-escalation and patrol tactics, as well as specialized training for SWAT officers. Through practical, scenario-based instruction, ASTD helps law enforcement professionals develop, maintain, and safely apply the skills needed to respond effectively in complex and high-risk situations.
