WHO CAN ATTEND OUR CLASSES?
This academy is open to previously certified law enforcement officers that meet the requirements of WAC 139-05-210.
Typically, the BLEEA is attended by:
- Fully commissioned peace officers who have attained commissioned law enforcement status by completing a basic training program in this or another state
- Persons whose peace officer certification has lapsed because of a break in service for more than twenty-four months but less than sixty months.

REGULATION
Upon hire, officers of mandated agencies who qualify for equivalency must attend an academy session within six months of their hire date per WAC 139-05-210.
Mandated agencies: City, County, State Universities, Dept. of Fish & Wildlife, and Railroad
Non-mandated agencies: Tribal Police, Gambling Commission, Liquor & Cannabis Board, WA State Parks & Recreation, Arson Investigators, DNR, and Reserves.
To request an extension or exemption of the WAC requirements for their recruits, agency personnel can submit a waiver request here.

DRESS CODE
Recruits are expected to attend in their agency’s regular-issue patrol/duty uniform (including duty belt and weapon), and/or a training uniform (5.11 Tactical Pants & Department Patch Polo).
SCHEDULE
BLEEA classes are typically held 0700 to 1730 Monday through Thursday.
The number of BLEEA classes held each year will vary based on legislative decisions and funding.
Please note: The Training Session dates listed below, as well as the attached schedules, are subject to change without notice. Training managers and recruits must read selection notices carefully to ensure they have the correct dates.
CANCELLATION
Agencies wishing to cancel an applicant’s registration must notify the registrar via phone or email.

To register an applicant for this Academy, agency-authorized personnel can submit a request via the WSCJTC Acadis Portal. The following attachments must be included:

Submitting an incomplete registration request in the Acadis Portal is allowed, but it will not be processed until it is complete. Incomplete registration requests will remain in the queue (Application List) until all prerequisites are attached. Submitting an incomplete registration request only guarantees a spot in the queue, not in any specific class. Once registration requests are complete, they are processed into open seats on a first-registered/first-served basis.
